Who can become a member?

We welcome Hungarian natives and anyone interested in the Hungarian language and culture. We are looking for active members that attend events and also participate on the forum our website. This is an opportunity to be in touch with an entire network of people to find out information and advice, learn new things, to build existing or new language skills, embark on the path of cultural learning and enrichment.

Does it cost anything to become a member?

Yes. We have two types of annual membership that you pay once a year. The single membership cost $10. It is for only one person. The family membership cost $20 that for families for up to 8 family members.

Can I be a member if I don't speak Hungarian?

Yes, absolutely! A perfect knowledge of the Hungarian language is not a condition for membership. However, it is important to know that the dominant language of communication is Hungarian, as the members are mostly native Hungarian speakers. We also try to provide the most important information in English. In case of "mixed" families, please contact the Hungarian-speaking member of the family.

Where do our members live?

Our members are mainly people living in North and South Carolina and the surrounding states, who are connected to Hungary in some way, who want to get to know each other and keep in touch with each other and the local Hungarians, and they want to take part in our meetings and programs.

What are the benefits of membership?

You can join the Hungarian community in Carolina.
You have voting rights in electing the leadership of the Carolinas Hungarian Group (CHG).
You can see where Hungarians live in the area.
You can use our forums to get in touch with Hungarians nearby and stay in touch with them.
